Straight outta’ Brisbane, DJ Bacon is back with a new spin on Breathe & Stop. Bacon’s remix brings the funk to your face with an infectious guitar line, blaring horns and sampled African vocals for the hook. The b-boy friendly beats are layered with shakers, tambourine and hand percussion that sound as much at home in a Kenyan drum circle as they do in a Bronx park jam.
On the flip side, Bacon breathes new life into OutKast’s title of the same name with African vocals, instrumentation and a beat that’s sure to get heads nodding and fill the dancefloor. Bacon’s take on the song transforms the murky and somewhat abstract sounding original into an upbeat celebration track that’s as warm as the African sun — and just as brilliant.
